Massage Therapy is the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body. Soft tissues include muscles, ligaments, tendons and connective tissue. Generally speaking Swedish massage principles define the way the hands work the body tissues through kneading, stroking, percussions etc. Deep tissue treatments use the RMT's elbows and forearms to apply appropriate pressure to alleviate a variety of soft tissue ailments including tension, trigger points and restrictions. Your therapist will always communicate with you throughout treatment to ensure your comfort level is acceptable.
Massage Therapy also tests your range of motion and may include orthopedic testing. Your progress is continually charted and treatment plans are constantly updated.
